In the Community

Because many of our young people are placed individually it is vital that we encourage them to socialise and integrate into a normal community and make a positive contribution to it.

This can be a long drawn out process especially for young people who may have been isolated for a large part of their lives. We at Nexus Direct provide many ways in which we can help our young people socialise and integrate in a positive way and promote there independence at the same time.

We can access for those who wish it colleges and further education as well as develop social skills via various activities, from attending our local sports centre, local pubs and clubs which meet various needs from skill development to
social development.

Family Contact

Family, regardless of history is important to most of our young people, appropriate family contact is positively encouraged and where ever this contact can be facilitated
we endeavour to do so.

Some family contact however for various reasons cannot
be facilitated as
regularly as the service user would like and in these cases the family contact is supported with telephone contact, where ever this is possible.
